I. Overview
📍 Location: Quang Nam Province, Central Vietnam.
⚓ Historical Hub: A major Southeast Asian trading port from the 15th to 19th century.
🌍 Global Recognition: UNESCO World Heritage (1999).
🏮 Iconic Features: Renowned for its ancient houses and signature yellow walls.

– The Japanese Covered Bridge –
Built in the 17th century. A unique architectural fusion of Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese styles featuring a wooden roof, pink walls, and animal statues.

👨👩👧👦 Tourist Overload: Up to 30,000 visitors in a single day.
🌊 Heavy Flooding: 3 to 5 major floods annually. From Sept-Nov, water levels can rise above 2 meters.

🏚️ Wood Degradation: Severe damage from floods and >80% humidity.
⏳ Vulnerable Heritage: Over 1,100 ancient buildings are decaying rapidly, requiring massive maintenance funds.

Flood Adaptation
Utilizing traditional pulley systems (hệ thống ròng rọc) to hoist heavy furniture to the second floor, alongside upgrading city drainage systems.

Wood Conservation
Apply waterproof and anti-termite chemical treatments strictly every 1-2 years. Replace broken wood early to prevent collapse.
